Dr. Oppel is a Radio Frequency Surgical Unit that operates at 4 MHz. It is designed to perform hemostasis, cutting, and coagulation with precision and safety. The electrode of Dr. Oppel does not heat up by itself, but instead lets the cellular tissue produce the joule heat. This makes it safer during action, does not leave burns, and does not cause sparks during operation. The 4MHz radio frequency makes it possible to achieve precise cutting and deep coagulation even in blood. Dr. Oppel’s surgical equipment is specially developed for OB/GYN, PS/DER, Urology and has outstanding performance in Microsurgery by their excellent output time function.
It’s a coagulation necrosis to the 5mm depth of tissue.
No deep coagulation is capable to make necrosis with
cauterization or cryosurgery. Coagulation necrosis
perfectly achieved in coagulation with radio frequency
because electrode let tissue produce joule heat itself.
The electrode size affects coagulative depth, the device
is designed to make different depth by the electrode as
above.
Insert 6mm semi-ball type electrode into the os to
1~1,5cm depth, start coagulation until boiling noise is
heard, then rotate electrode and slide all areas of
erosion. In addition, perform coagulation on the normal
squamous epithelium of ectocervix region the be 2-5mm
overlapped.
Sometimes the are some patients who feel painful, but
most are operated easily without anesthesia. Only
nulliparous woman is occasionally needed anesthesia.
If the coagulation depth is shallow, necrosis region
could not enough and causes bleeding due to vascular
exposure. The important thing is perform coagulation to
5mm depth with care in an early stage of the practice.
To prevent late bleeding, warn patient to be careful not
to have necrosis region separate by exercise or sexual
intercourse for 3 weeks until the blood vessel closes up.
No report about side effects such as infertility and
atresia of cervix caused by excessive coagulation.
Coagulation performed for bleeding control and necrosis
remaining lesion after conization.
Different from laser treatment, radio frequency
coagulation replaces columnar epithelium with
squamous epithelium in 4-6 weeks, shown clearly in the
colposcopy. Only small bleeding, no massive one, may
occur in the course of healing.
